Cover Construction in Ontario, CA | San Mateo Construction

We’re an independent construction crew that installs and services Cover products across Ontario, from the tilt-up warehouse corridor along the I-10 to the postwar slab homes in 91762 and 91764. The thing that sets our Cover work here apart is simple: Ontario’s split construction identity means Cover shower and roofing systems sit on two very different substrates, and we’ve learned how to handle both. Whether you need a Cover LuxeWalk shower on a settled 1950s slab or a CoverShield metal roof that’s been through Santa Ana wind season, call (855) 901-7266 for a straight answer and a free estimate.

Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for Cover Service

We know the Cover line because we’ve worked with it where it actually lives: on Ontario roofs that bake under 100-degree summers, and in Ontario bathrooms where hard water from the city’s municipal supply builds up at drain flanges until something lets go. Noel Carrington, our owner, grew up helping his father pour concrete footings in San Mateo, and he’s spent three decades since then learning what happens when framing, waterproofing, and fasteners meet real-world conditions. That background matters when you’re deciding whether a cracked Cover shower pan means a patch job or a full replacement, or whether loose CoverShield fasteners call for a re-torque or a panel swap.

We have direct, working familiarity with Cover’s full product line, including Cover sales & service across the Inland Empire. But we’re not a manufacturer rep, and we’re not authorized or endorsed by Cover. We’re a licensed general contractor that fixes and installs their products on real job sites, and we’ll tell you when an OEM part is worth it and when a quality aftermarket alternative does the same job for less.

Common Cover Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario

Here’s what we actually see in Ontario, week to week:

  • Cover LuxeWalk shower pan cracks at the drain flange. Ontario’s hard water deposits scale around the drain assembly, and on older slabs that have settled, the pan flexes until a hairline crack opens. Water then seeps into the subfloor slowly, often for months before anyone notices. We’ve pulled more than a few of these pans in 91762 and 91764 ranch homes and found the framing underneath already stained.
  • CoverTec tile roofing underlayment delaminating on west-facing slopes. The intense UV and Santa Ana heat cycles here bake the underlayment until it turns brittle and separates at the laps. West-facing roof planes in Ontario take the worst of it, especially on tile roofs where the underlayment is doing all the waterproofing work. By the time you see a ceiling stain, the underlayment has usually failed in multiple spots.
  • CoverShield standing seam metal roofing panel lift and fastener back-out. Santa Ana winds push and pull at the panels in cycles, and over a few years the fasteners back out enough to cause edge lift and rattling. We see this most often on the newer subdivisions near 91761 where cover roofs were installed with standard fastener schedules that didn’t account for Ontario’s wind events.
  • CoverTherm cool-roof coating chalked and losing reflectivity. The coating is designed to reflect heat, but Ontario’s high solar load plus the fine dust that blows off the warehouse corridor accelerates chalking. Within three to four years, we see reflectance drop enough that flat-roofed commercial and residential buildings start holding heat instead of shedding it.
  • Shower surrounds leaking at the curb on uneven concrete. When the slab drops even a half-inch, water pools at the curb instead of draining, and the waterproofing at the seam eventually fails. This shows up consistently in the older central Ontario tracts, where slab settlement is just a fact of the housing stock.

Cover Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Ontario’s construction landscape is split down the middle, and that split changes how Cover products perform. The I-10 logistics corridor and the former Ontario Airport industrial belt are dominated by tilt-up warehouse construction: thick, hard concrete slabs poured for forklift traffic and pallet racking, not for residential plumbing chases. That’s a completely different substrate from the postwar slab-on-grade homes in 91762 and 91764, where 1950s concrete was poured thinner, over less-consolidated soil, and has often settled unevenly over seven decades. For Cover work, this means we never assume a substrate is flat or fastener-friendly. Industrial-grade warehouse concrete can be hard enough to snap standard anchors; 1950s residential slabs can be soft, crumbly, or out of level by an inch in ten feet. Before we set a Cover LuxeWalk pan or mount CoverShield roof cleats, we probe the surface, check for settlement, and adapt our fastening and leveling methods to the specific site. A shower pan installed perfectly square on a slab that’s out of level will still crack; a roof fastened with the wrong anchors on hardened industrial concrete will still rattle loose. The substrate is half the job.

Cover Models & Products We Service in Ontario

We install, repair, and maintain the full Cover construction product line: the Cover LuxeWalk walk-in shower system, CoverTec tile roofing underlayment, CoverShield standing seam metal roofing panels, and the CoverTherm cool-roof coating system. For critical components like shower drain assemblies and metal roofing fasteners, we use OEM Cover parts to preserve fit and warranty integrity. For commodity items like sealants, trim, and flashing, we carry quality aftermarket options that meet or exceed spec, which keeps cost down on repairs where the brand name doesn’t buy you anything. We stock the common Cover fasteners, drain flanges, and sealant types locally, which cuts turnaround time for Ontario jobs.
