Abodu Construction in Ontario, CA | San Mateo Construction
We’re an independent construction firm that builds and installs Abodu ADUs across Ontario, and the short answer is this: we handle everything from your first survey to the module set to the roof tie-in, and we do it with a crew that knows Ontario’s slabs better than most. The one thing that makes our work here different is that we expect the older concrete to be out of tolerance before we ever show up, because in this city, residential slabs share a labor pool with warehouse tilt-up pours. So we plan for that from day one, and we price it honestly up front instead of surprising you after the module arrives. If you’re thinking about an Abodu One, Two, or Studio on an Ontario lot, call (855) 901-7266 for our Abodu services and we’ll walk the site with you.
Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for Abodu Service
Abodu’s panelized system is a factory product. It arrives square, plumb, and dimensionally precise. The hard part, the part that makes or breaks the job, is the ground it sits on and the connections around it. That’s where our work lives. We’ve set Abodu modules on postwar slabs in central Ontario, on new pads in newer subdivisions near 91761, and on lots where the gas meter was nowhere near where Abodu’s factory drawing said it should be. Noel Carrington, our owner, will tell you the same thing he tells every Ontario client: prefab doesn’t eliminate site work, it concentrates it. The module is the easy part. The foundation, the utility stubs, the roof transition, the gutter runs that survive a Santa Ana wind event – that’s the job. We handle all of it under one contract, which means you’re not chasing a concrete guy, a plumber, and a gutter crew across three different schedules. One crew, one schedule, one accountable team. We’re local to Ontario, we stock the site-built materials these jobs always need, and we show up when we say we will.
We’re also direct about what we are and what we aren’t. We are not an Abodu dealer, and we are not authorized, sponsored, or warranted by Abodu. We’re an independent general contractor who has built a practice around their factory-built systems because we think the product is good. That independence means we can tell you when a slab repair is worth it and when a new pad is the honest answer, without a sales quota attached.

Common Abodu Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario
- Slab and pad tolerance failures. Abodu’s modules are machined to tight tolerances, so the platform they land on has to be flat within a fraction of an inch across the full footprint. A 1950s slab in 91762 or 91764 is rarely that flat, and the typical tilt-up warehouse crews working along the Etiwanda corridor don’t pour to residential flatness specs. We survey the existing slab, measure the fall, and either shim, pour self-leveler, or cut and re-pour a proper pad before the module ever leaves the factory.
- Utility stub-out misalignment. Abodu’s plumbing and electrical chases land at fixed points. Ontario’s older homes often have gas meters, panels, and sewer cleanouts in places the factory drawing doesn’t anticipate. We trench, re-stub, and bring everything to the module’s layout before the crane shows up, so set day isn’t a scramble.
- Roof-to-site transition leaks. Where the Abodu roof assembly meets a site-built breezeway, covered walkway, or the main house, the flashing and membrane work is our responsibility. It’s the most common leak point on any prefab install, and in Ontario that first winter rain or a wind-driven Santa Ana storm will find any gap immediately.
- Heat and UV degradation of site-built components. The factory shell holds up fine, but the pieces we build around it – gutter runs, exterior sealants, trim, and shade structures – take brutal UV and wind loads in Ontario’s high-desert summers. We spec materials accordingly, because a cheap sealant here fails in two seasons.
- Foundation work on older slabs. When an existing slab is too far gone to shim, Ontario owners sometimes need a new pier-and-grade-beam foundation. We’re honest about when a repair is throwing good money after bad, and we’d rather tell you that before you’ve spent on a module than after.
Abodu Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Ontario is one of the few Inland Empire cities where a single crew’s week can include a tilt-up warehouse slab along the Etiwanda corridor on Monday and a 1950s postwar residential slab in 91762 on Thursday. Those are two completely different concrete disciplines. A warehouse floor is poured flat enough for forklifts and storage racks. An Abodu panelized module needs the kind of flatness a machinist would respect. The trouble is, Ontario’s concrete labor market runs on warehouse and tenant-improvement work, so when an ADU pad gets poured by a crew that spent the previous week on an industrial floor, the tolerances are often exactly what Abodu says they can’t be. Before you order a module here, you need a residential-tolerance survey of your existing slab or a properly spec’d new pad, and you need your gas, sewer, and electrical stubs checked against Abodu’s factory layout. Skip that, and you’ll be paying for re-stub work, shimming, or a new pad on a crane-day deadline. We run those checks up front because we’ve learned the hard way what skipping them costs.
Our crew took an Abodu Two into a mid-century tract home in 91762 near the older central grid a while back. The existing rear slab was out of level by roughly half an inch over the module footprint, and the old gas stub was landing dead-center under a panel line. We cut and re-poured a level pad, trenched a new utility run, re-stubbed the gas and sewer to Abodu’s factory layout, and flashed the roof transition to the existing covered patio. The module set square on the first lift, and the client’s only callback since then has been a gutter run we added along the Santa Ana-facing side. That’s the job in Ontario, and it’s the job we do.
Abodu Models & Products We Service in Ontario
We work on the full Abodu residential line: the Abodu One, the Abodu Two, the Abodu Studio, and the Abodu Garage Conversion package. We also provide Abodu repair in Montclair and surrounding areas. For Abodu-specific components – the panel connections, the proprietary roof and wall junction details, and the named mechanical package – we go through Abodu’s OEM supply chain. Aftermarket substitutes on those interfaces void the only warranty that matters on a module, and we won’t do it. For everything site-built around the unit – foundation, trenching, gutters, flashing, finish trim – we spec standard commercial-grade materials built for Inland Empire conditions. We also stock the common site materials these jobs need locally, which keeps Ontario turnaround faster than waiting on out-of-area suppliers. And we’ll never recommend a repair that we wouldn’t put on our own crew’s work.

AfterAbodu Service Pricing in Ontario
Every Abodu job in Ontario has two cost buckets: the factory module and the site work. Most clients have the module priced out, but the site work is where the real estimating discipline lives. Here’s what our work typically runs in this market:
| Scope | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| ADU Construction (full Abodu set) | $90,000 – $220,000 |
| Garage Conversion (Abodu package) | $30,000 – $80,000 |
| Home Addition (site-built tie-in) | $45,000 – $130,000 |
The site work number moves based on what’s under your feet: an existing slab in 91762 that needs a full re-pour costs more than a fresh pad on a newer lot near 91761. We also offer Upland Abodu service with the same detailed estimating. Utility re-stubs, trenching distance, and roof-transition complexity all factor in. When you call us, we’ll walk the site, run the survey, and give you a written line-item estimate – not a guess. Call (855) 901-7266 to schedule yours.

FAQs – Abodu Construction in Ontario
It depends on the existing slab, but in Ontario’s older central neighborhoods the honest answer is usually yes – either a full re-pour or a new pad with a proper utility trench. Postwar slabs in 91762 and 91764 were rarely poured to the flatness tolerance an Abodu module requires. We also handle Abodu service in Chino with the same survey-first approach. We survey first, then tell you what’s actually needed. Call (855) 901-7266 for a site assessment.
That’s most of what we do. The factory module is one part of the job; the foundation, utility stubs, gutter runs, flashing, and roof-to-site transitions are all ours. We handle the full scope under one contract.
A garage conversion starts with an existing structure, so the work shifts toward structural reinforcement, floor leveling, and utility rerouting inside an existing footprint. A ground-set ADU starts with a new foundation and full site utility runs. Both need the same residential-tolerance precision, and both run through our same crew.
Yes, if they’re spec’d wrong. Ontario’s high-desert summers with intense UV and Santa Ana wind events are hard on sealants, trim, gutters, and shade structures. The factory shell is engineered for it. The site-built pieces around it are our responsibility, and we spec materials that hold up here. If you’re seeing sealant failures or gutter fatigue, call (855) 901-7266 and we’ll take a look.
We are not authorized, sponsored, or warranted by Abodu. We’re an independent general contractor with deep experience installing their systems. For factory components, we source through Abodu’s OEM supply chain to protect your module warranty. For site-built work, our own workmanship warranty applies.
