Mr-Glass Construction in Rialto, CA | San Mateo Construction
We’re San Mateo Construction, an independent General Contractor in Rialto that installs and services Mr-Glass shower enclosures, wall mirrors, sliding door glass, and custom glazing across the city. The thing that makes our Mr-Glass work here different is simple: we template every opening against the actual framing, because Rialto’s mid-century core and newer foothill subdivisions settle and flex in ways a stock kit doesn’t account for. Call (855) 901-7266 for a free estimate on any Mr-Glass project.
Why Rialto Residents Choose Us for Mr-Glass Service
We’ve installed Mr-Glass hardware kits and glass panels on Inland Empire remodels for years, and we know their hinge tolerances, U-channel profiles, and edge finishes the way only a contractor who templates against real openings can. We’re not Mr-Glass and we’re not an authorized dealer. What we are is a licensed general contractor who specifies, templates, and installs Mr-Glass product to fit the actual conditions of your Rialto home, not the other way around.
Noel Carrington, our owner, has spent three decades running residential construction across California. He grew up helping his father pour concrete footings, studied construction technology at Skyline College in San Bruno, and these days he’s known for tight framing and the kind of organization that keeps a project on schedule without drama. That matters when your shower enclosure needs to swing true on a slab that has moved for sixty years. For a full look at the brand itself, see our Mr-Glass sales & service page.

Common Mr-Glass Construction Problems We Solve in Rialto
Here’s what we actually see when we walk into Rialto homes:
- Frameless shower doors that bind or swing out of square. In the older 92376 core, original bathrooms were framed for a tub-and-curtain. Summer heat and slab movement rack the opening, and a stock Mr-Glass enclosure kit simply won’t hang right. We refurbish or sister the framing, re-set the threshold, and re-template the glass to the corrected opening.
- Sliding glass doors that rattle and leak at the track. North Rialto’s 92377 subdivisions sit on expansive clay slopes. Santa Ana winds and dry UV load oxidize anodized aluminum frames and dry out glazing gaskets, so sliders rattle in the wind and leak when winter rain finally comes. We replace rollers, gaskets, and track components, or re-glaze the unit if the glass has failed.
- Fogged dual-pane patio and sliding door glass. The older tract stock in 92376 has dual-pane units with seals that fail after decades of desert heat. Dust and moisture haze the panes. We replace the glazed unit itself rather than tearing out the whole frame when the frame is still sound.
- Glass mounted to unpermitted framing. The 92376 core is full of enclosed garages and room additions that were never inspected. When a Mr-Glass enclosure or large mirror gets hung on framing that was never permitted, the stud condition and plumb have to be verified before anything goes up. We check first.
- HOA-driven replacement constraints. North Rialto’s 92377 subdivisions require architectural review for visible changes, so a mirror or enclosure swap often needs paperwork before glass. We handle the submittal as part of the job.
Mr-Glass Service in Rialto: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Rialto is two genuinely different construction jobs. The older 92376 core west of the 210 corridor is dense, mid-century tract housing on slab foundations from the 1950s through the 1970s. Original cast-iron and galvanized plumbing, unpermitted room additions, enclosed garages, and framing that has moved with the slab. Then there’s 92377 north of the 210, where newer two-story stucco subdivisions from the 1980s through the 2000s creep toward the San Bernardino foothills on expansive clay soils — a different challenge than our San Bernardino Mr-Glass service area faces. Those homes slope, settle, and flex. Santa Ana wind events regularly strip tile and lift patio covers across exposed ridge-line subdivisions. What that means for Mr-Glass owners is this: the same shower door spec has to be templated one way in the old core and set with adjustable hardware against movement in the north. A contractor who templates a 60-inch frameless kit the same way in both ZIP codes will be back in six months fixing a door that binds. We won’t be, because we’ve already corrected for the opening before the glass was cut.
Mr-Glass Models & Products We Service in Rialto
We work with the Mr-Glass product lines that actually show up on Inland Empire remodels: frameless shower door and enclosure hardware kits (hinges, clamps, U-channel) in bath work; beveled and polished-edge wall mirrors and mirror wardrobe or bypass door glass; sliding glass door and patio door replacement units and panels; and custom-cut glass, shelving, and storefront-grade glazing for tenant-improvement buildouts. Rialto’s warehouse and logistics corridor keeps us busy on light commercial storefront re-glazing, too. We use tempered glass cut to the templated opening and source hinges, rollers, handles, and gaskets that match the existing Mr-Glass kit. On a sound frame we repair. We replace when the opening is too out of square, the glass is fogged or edge-chipped, or the hardware line has been discontinued.

AfterMr-Glass Service Pricing in Rialto
Mr-Glass installation pricing in Rialto depends on what you’re doing: a full walk-in shower enclosure runs differently than a single pane replacement or a mirror install. Here are the ranges we quote:
| Service | Typical Rialto Price Range |
|---|---|
| Walk-In Shower Installation | $4,500 – $12,000 |
| Tub-to-Shower Conversion | $3,500 – $10,000 |
| Shower Replacement | $3,000 – $8,500 |
| Bathroom Vanity Installation | $800 – $3,000 |
| Bathroom Remodel | $9,000 – $28,000 |
| Small Bathroom Remodel | $5,000 – $12,000 |
What drives the number is the condition of the framing, whether the slab has moved, and whether we’re repairing a sound frame or re-templating a replacement opening. A free estimate includes exact measurements, a written line-item quote, and a straight answer on whether repair makes more sense than replacement. Call (855) 901-7266 and we’ll come out and give you the real number.

FAQs – Mr-Glass Construction in Rialto
Usually yes. Most 92376 bathrooms need the opening corrected, not the whole room gutted. We sister out-of-plumb studs, re-set the threshold, and template the glass to the corrected dimensions. Tearing out the full bathroom only becomes necessary when the framing is structurally compromised or you’re reconfiguring the layout anyway. Call (855) 901-7266 and we’ll tell you which one you’re looking at.
Because the homes north of the 210 sit on expansive clay slopes and take more wind exposure than the flat older grid. Over time the slab and framing flex, the aluminum frame oxidizes in the dry UV load, and the gaskets dry out. The track loses its seal and the unit starts to rattle. We can replace the rollers and gaskets and re-square the panel in most cases. Call (855) 901-7266 for an assessment.
In most of north Rialto’s 92377 HOA-governed subdivisions, yes, if the change is visible from the exterior. A shower enclosure usually isn’t; a large window or patio door glass replacement can be. We handle the architectural submittal as part of the job so the paperwork doesn’t stall the install.
Replacing a shower enclosure, mirror, or glazed unit in an existing opening is typically not a permit job in Rialto. What can become one is any work that modifies framing, plumbing, or the opening itself, which happens more often than people expect in 92376 homes with unpermitted prior work. We’ll tell you in the estimate if a permit is required and pull it for you.
They put real stress on gaskets, rollers, and anodized finishes. Rialto regularly sees summer highs over 100°F with intense UV, and that accelerates seal and gasket failure, particularly in 92377 homes with direct southern exposure. Using OEM-quality components and adjusting for slab movement extends the service life meaningfully. Call (855) 901-7266 to schedule a free inspection.
