Delta Construction in Los Altos, CA | San Mateo Construction

If you’re planning a Los Altos remodel or rebuild and Delta fixtures are part of the conversation, here’s what you need to know up front: we’re an independent general contractor that specifies and installs Delta plumbing fixtures across Los Altos ranch-house projects, and the thing that sets our Delta work apart here is that we plan for the realities of 1950s and 60s construction before we ever touch a valve. That means relocating galley sinks, opening tiled shower walls, and replacing older rough-ins the right way. We’re not affiliated with Delta or authorized by them, and we don’t pretend to be. What we do is build tight remodels where the Delta trim you chose actually works. You can reach us at (855) 901-7266 for a free estimate.

Why Los Altos Residents Choose Us for Delta Service

Most of the homes we work on in Los Altos were built between 1955 and 1968. That’s not a guess; it’s the dominant housing stock. Ranch-style layouts, small galley kitchens, and bathrooms where the original Delta two-handle valves are still buried behind tile. When a homeowner asks us to install a Trinsic or Lahara fixture, we already know what’s behind the wall before we cut into it. That’s the difference between a remodel that goes smoothly and one that stalls.

Noel Carrington, our owner, grew up in Baywood in San Mateo, pouring concrete footings with his father on weekends. He’s spent three decades working residential jobs across San Mateo County, and he’s the one who walks Los Altos projects with our crews before we start. His approach is simple: tell us what you actually need, and we’ll figure out the right way to build it. That’s how we run Delta work, too. We install genuine Delta OEM cartridges, seats, and springs so the parts in your wall are the same ones Delta makes. If you’ve got an older two-handle valve dripping, we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth rebuilding or whether a fresh MultiChoice rough-in makes more sense while the wall is already open. Our Delta sales & service work covers everything from a single leaking lavatory to a full kitchen and bath remodel.

Common Delta Construction Problems We Solve in Los Altos

Delta makes solid fixtures, but they don’t live in a bubble. Los Altos conditions create very specific failure patterns. Here’s what we actually see:

  • Trinsic and Essa pull-down sprayers losing pressure. Los Altos water runs hard. Not outrageously hard like some East Bay pockets, but hard enough that aerator screens and cartridge seats collect scale over a few years. The sprayer weakens, the handle gets stiff, and the homeowner assumes the faucet’s dead. Usually it’s a ten-minute OEM parts swap.
  • MultiChoice rough-ins hidden behind tiled ranch-house shower walls. A previous remodeler set the valve body, tiled over it, and called it done. Now the shower temperature fluctuates and we have to open the wall during your walk-in or tub-to-shower conversion. We replace the cartridge with a genuine Delta part and set the trim properly. This happens on a majority of Los Altos ranch remodels we touch.
  • Original two-handle Delta stems seizing after decades of dry-summer cycling. Los Altos summers are bone-dry for months, then the winter rains come. That cycle, combined with mineral buildup, locks up stems from the 1960s and 70s. We rebuild them with OEM seats and springs when the wall’s worth keeping, or swap to a MultiChoice rough-in when we’re already rebuilding the shower.
  • Lahara lavatory spouts dripping onto new quartz vanities. This one’s frustrating because it’s avoidable. The seat and spring kit inside the spout was never refreshed when the old bath was built. Now it leaks onto a brand-new vanity. We replace the kit, and the drip stops.
  • Galley kitchen sink relocations with original copper supply lines. Old Los Altos ranch kitchens weren’t built for modern Delta pull-downs on a relocated island sink. The supply lines are narrow, the drain’s in the wrong place, and the cabinet layout fights you. We re-run supply and drain lines before any cabinet or countertop goes in.

Delta Service in Los Altos: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here’s a Los Altos-specific reality that matters more than most people realize: most of our Delta kitchen work in Los Altos is tied to relocating the sink because the original galley kitchens are too small for modern islands and pull-down faucets. On a full rebuild off a wide Delta repair in Los Altos Hills area lot, our crew gutted a 1960s ranch kitchen and set a Delta Trinsic pull-down on a relocated sink under new quartz. Before the drywall closed, we had replaced the old two-handle valves with a fresh Delta MultiChoice rough-in and run new supply lines to the new sink location. In the same project’s hall bath, we converted the original tub to a walk-in shower and rebuilt a seized Delta stem assembly with an OEM kit so the new tile went back over working valves.

That’s why we measure fixture placement against the old wall cavity before any cabinet goes in. Los Altos neighborhoods in the 94022 and 94024 ZIPs, especially the ones off El Monte and the Foothill corridor, are full of these original ranch kitchens. The wall framing and drain geometry don’t flex. You either plan for the relocation before the cabinet order goes in, or you learn to live with a faucet that’s 18 inches from where you wanted it.

Delta Models & Products We Service in Los Altos

We work with the Delta lines Los Altos homeowners actually select: Trinsic single-handle kitchen and bath suites, Lahara widespread lavatory faucets, the MultiChoice universal rough-in with Monitor shower trim, and Essa and Leland pull-down kitchen faucets. We order genuine Delta OEM parts, not aftermarket substitutes. That matters because Delta maintains parts availability for decades, so a Trinsic cartridge or Lahara seat-and-spring kit ordered today will be a real Delta part, not a knockoff that fails in a year. We don’t stock dozens of cartridges in a truck, but we keep the most common Delta repair parts on hand for Los Altos calls, which cuts down turnaround when a leak shows up mid-project.

Delta Service Pricing in Los Altos

The price of Delta-related work in Los Altos depends entirely on what’s being built. A vanity swap with a new Lahara faucet runs on the lower end. A full kitchen remodel with sink relocation, new rough-in valves, and quartz counters is a different budget entirely. Here are the ranges we quote:

Project Typical Range
Kitchen Remodel $14,000 – $45,000
Walk-In Shower Installation $4,500 – $12,000
Tub-to-Shower Conversion $3,500 – $10,000
Countertop Installation $2,000 – $6,500
Bathroom Vanity Installation $800 – $3,000

What drives cost in Los Altos specifically: the age of your rough-in valves, whether we’re relocating a sink, and what condition the existing copper supply lines are in. A free estimate includes a walk-through of the actual plumbing situation, not a number we pull from a square-footage chart. Call (855) 901-7266 and we’ll schedule it.
